More of an enthusiast than an expert in firearms, I have thought that experience alone should determine the hunter's preference; it is only after having tried almost all the systems of hunting guns produced up to these times, that I have definitively settled on the Lefaucheux gun, as it is currently, that is to say loaded with cartridges fitted with a copper base, and sealed by means of a lever. For in the current state are resolved the problems that all the other systems left unresolved: to preserve the firing mechanism from the fouling produced by smoke, to avoid all spitting, to leave no doubt to the hunter whether his gun is armed or not. I firmly believe that it is at this moment the most perfect gun that exists.
